Obviously this isn’t in the history books
On top of lynching and everything else, white families were literally bombing (literal actual bombs) Black peoples’ houses for moving into white neighborhoods, like terrorists (and it was terrorism) but it was considered completely normal and even expected. Not “isolated” incidents with names attached. A lot of Black people expected to hear the sounds of explosions. Atrocious and traumatizing, right? This was in my parents lifetime.
And this was not just “the KKK”, these were everyday “conservative” white people. Now again, this is not my Great-great-great-great-great-great ancestors, this is my literal parents life times. Both of whom are still alive and had to live in the South.. my traumatized grandparents as well. So cut the “your ancestors lived through oppression, not the Black people alive and complaining about it” tripe. That racism still exists and the consequence is what we’re living now. The dominating majority of white people couldn’t know actual American history if their fucking lives depended on the shit
